Non-Wetting, Non-Penetrating Linings for Primary & Secondary Aluminium

Aluminium, both primary and secondary aluminium production require refractories that resist molten metal penetration and non-wetting behaviour. Sharadaa addresses melting and holding furnaces, launders, dross areas, burner zones, impact areas, and charging roofs with Non-Wetting Castables, Low Cement Castables, Precast Shapes (PCPF), and Phosphate Bonded Bricks — preventing aluminium infiltration and extending campaign life.

Aluminium processing requires specialized refractory materials capable of resisting molten aluminium corrosion, thermal cycling, and metal penetration.

Sharadaa Ceramics provides high-performance refractory solutions for anode baking furnaces, melting furnaces, holding furnaces, launders, and dross processing areas. Our advanced non-wetting castables such as NANOBOND 90 AL and NANOBOND 80 AL prevent aluminium adhesion and reduce metal loss. For demanding furnace and launder applications, precast prefired refractory shapes like Velcrete PCF 45, PCF 90FS, and PCF 95FS offer excellent durability and dimensional stability. Complementing these solutions are phosphate bonded refractory bricks including SHARADAA 62LF and SHARADAA 50D. These materials provide exceptional resistance to molten aluminium attack, thermal shock, and chemical corrosion.

Case Studies

Product introduction was carried out in a 15 Mt ladle which undergoes frequent pouring and casting.

It completed 20 ladles of circulation as compared to single ladle usage with bottom pouring sleeves

It has also been developed for the higher capacity 30 Mt ladle and is under circulation.
